Cedefop’s ReferNet Network Partnership Forum will take place in Croatia for the first time

The Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education (AVETAE) is organizing the international Partnership Forum of the ReferNet network from May 13th to 14th 2024., in Zagreb, within the framework of the ReferNet project. The uniqueness of this year’s Partnership Forum lies in the simultaneous holding of the national competition for vocational school students, WorldSkills Croatia, at the Zagreb Fair, providing an opportunity to encourage collaboration and dialogue on trends, challenges, and best practices in skill development and excellence in vocational education among experts from across Europe. Following the concept of peer learning, the Partnership Forum relies on the contributions of ReferNet network partners and the exchange of knowledge in the field of vocational education at the international level. This year’s Partnership Forum is also held live for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic and for the first time in Croatia. The event is open only to representatives of the ReferNet network.

ReferNet is a network of partner institutions of the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) that has been providing information on national vocational education systems and policies in EU Member States, Iceland, and Norway since 2002. AVETAE has been acting as the national partner of the ReferNet network since 2014, providing Cedefop with information on the Croatian vocational education system and policies, raising the visibility of vocational education nationally and internationally.

In this annual forum, ReferNet members will discuss issues related to vocational education and training (VET), skills and qualifications, improve their knowledge by sharing information on recent developments in national policies and systems, and develop a common approach to the deliverables included in their annual work plan. Among other issues, partners will also reflected on how to improve the visibility of Cedefop/ReferNet deliverables in order to draft recommendations to the whole network.
