VET students’ competitions in the academic year 2020/2021 – important notice

Dear school directors, teachers, students and competitors,

A new academic year has begun – one in which we are faced with a challenge of reorganising schoolwork and educational activities. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in the past academic year we were forced to cancel the National VET students’ competition – Worldskills 2020: because of the particularities of the competitions we were unable to simply move the date.

Therefore, we have begun planning a new competition in the academic year 2020/2021. Taking into consideration the current circumstances, we plan to organise a hybrid competition model, which means that a part will be held exclusively online (both performance-based and national competition), and a part in person. We intend to hold at least a part of the national competition in person, adjusted to the epidemiological situation.

In order to avoid the time-period in which the epidemiologists expect an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, we have decided to move the dates of the competitions:

  • School competitions – January / February 2021
  • Performance based competitions (school competitions in disciplines that have no regional competitions; and regional competitions) – March 2021
  • National competition – May 2021.

The final schedule will depend on the epidemiological circumstances – if necessary, the Agency will reorganise and adjust the competition format, of which you will be informed in due time.

We sincerely hope to see you at the National VET students’ competition – Worldskills Croatia 2021!
