At the end of 2020, UNEVOC developed and published a new document on the topic of entrepreneurial learning in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) – a practical guide that can be accessed via the UNEVOC online library, in three languages: English, Spanish and French. The English-language version is also available as an interactive online format.
The aim of the guide is to help TVET institutions develop entrepreneurial competences appropriate for the 21st century and its challenges. Entrepreneurial competences have proved to be particularly important for the youth’s transition to the labour market and strengthening their abilities to adapt to dramatically changing skills demands. This is also one of the goals of the international community – Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education and Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth call for the strengthening of skills for employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship.
This practical guide should help TVET institutions concentrate on the crux of entrepreneurial learning by offering tools for assessing the needs of the target group and the framework for exploring the added value of such learning. The Entrepreneurial Learning Institution Canvas – ELIC will enable TVET institutions to develop their own concept of entrepreneurial learning, identify key activities and apply innovative learning models and approaches.
Agency for VET and Adult Education has been the UNEVOC Centre (National Body) since 2007, as the national reference point for the Republic of Croatia. Some of the Agency’s missions are informing the public of technical and vocational education and training, promoting equity of access in TVET and developing skills and entrepreneurship.
