TAIEX (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange)

The European Union programme that provides short-term technical assistance in the field of harmonization, implementation and enforcement of European Union legislation.

TAIEX provides five basic services: documentation and information services and advice on single market legislation, workshops and seminars, study visits to the European Commission and Member States, expert advice to beneficiary countries and the establishment of a database on technical assistance projects and their results.

Under the TAIEX program, the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education has been approved three projects:

• Study visit on the topic of vocational education and training: Visit of the Agency representative to Finland, from 17-19 June 2013 and a meeting with representatives of the following institutions: OMNIA – the Joint Authority of Education in the Espoo Region, the Finnish Association for the Development of Vocational Education and Training (AMKE) and the Finnish National Board of Education (FNBE).
• Visit of a foreign expert on the topic of recognition of professional qualifications; Visit of a Spanish expert to the Agency and holding a workshop for Agency staff, 27-28 October 2014, on the topic of recognition of foreign professional qualifications and implementation of the process of recognition of qualifications.

Study visit on the topic of modernisation of the system of vocational education and adult education using the ESF fundVisit of Agency representatives to Portugal, from 17 to 19 November 2014 and meeting with representatives of: Managing Authority of the Operational Program Human Resources Development, National Agency for Qualifications and Vocational Education (ANQEP), Agency for Cohesion and Development (ADC), Portuguese Agency for lifelong learning (PROALV).
