An international conference, WorldSkills Croatia 2025 – Skills (r)evolution, was held in Dubrovnik as part of the WorldSkills 2025 General Assembly, bringing together more than 300 participants and 20 international speakers from the fields of education, industry, and public policy. In the opening speeches, the Director of ASOO, Mile Živčić and Minister Radovan Fuchs emphasized the importance of vocational education reform in Croatia. They noted that over 140 new curricula have been introduced in collaboration with employers, highlighting the need to develop skills that help young people respond successfully to changes in the labour market. The participants were also greeted by Mayor Mato Franković.
The conference was officially opened by Perttu Pölönen from Finland, who spoke about the role of human skills in a technologically accelerated world and underlined the importance of creativity and empathy.
In panel discussions, representatives from the European Commission, OECD, UNIDO, UNESCO and other international organizations discussed global trends, sustainable transitions and strengthening the quality and attractiveness of vocational education.
