The Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education hosted a French delegation from the vocational education system of the northeastern region of France in Zagreb on 26 May. The four-member French delegation stayed in Croatia for four days, and on the second day, with the support of the French Embassy, visited the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education.
Representatives of the Agency presented the French delegation with the comprehensive national education system, with a special focus on regular vocational education and the work of the Agency in this field. They described vertical and horizontal permeability of the education system in detail and explained where vocational education fits within it, in order to help the delegation compare the Croatian system with the French one.
In addition, the delegation showed interest in topics such as WorldSkills Croatia, Regional Competence Centres, quality assurance, continuous professional development of vocational teachers, and other activities in which the Agency participates or conducts.
To establish successful cooperation between French institutions and vocational secondary schools in the Republic of Croatia, the Agency presented the types of programs and economic sectors covered by vocational education, as well as a list of Regional Competence Centres with which cooperation can be pursued.
In the following days, the delegation will visit vocational schools and regional competence centres in sectors such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computing in Zagreb and Karlovac.
