Improvement of the capacity of Adult Education Institutions in 10 selected counties.
Component 1 has the following two expected results:
  1. Capacity of adult education institutions in the ten selected counties improved;
  2. The teacher training programme developed through the CARDS 2004 Adult Learning project further implemented.
Component 1 of the project concentrates on capacity building of the staff of AE institutions. The first result to be achieved under this component focuses on the capacity of the AE institutions in the ten counties[1] of special state concern in adjusting their offer of AE programmes to present and forecasted needs in the labour market. Key actors in the labour market sector will be involved together with representatives of AE institutions, resulting in relatively simple LM-analysis tools for AE institutions that will enable them to adapt their programmes to LM needs. It is expected that through these activities networking among AE institutions and partnerships with LM actors will be promoted. Another activity will be organising training events for AE institution management staff in strategic planning.
The second result focuses on the further implementation of the training programme for teacher trainers that was developed under the Cards 2004 Adult Learning project. The first activity is to finalise the handbook for the trainers. This is followed by the training of an additional group of 20 trainers who will work with those AE institutions that didn’t participate in this programme of teacher training before.
