Project progress

The VET QA project started in March 2010. During a successful Inception Phase (March and April) a project office was set up, first meetings were held with the beneficiary and other relevant stakeholders. The beneficiary appointed working group members for each of our three components and the respective meetings started accordingly.

The Interim Period was marked by the beginning of self-assessment process which is currently being piloted by 20 VET schools. Furthermore, collaboration with the “Access to education of students with disabilities” project has been achieved by including 4 additional schools in the self-assessment process. Self-assessment is accompanied by external evaluation process for which 11 external evaluators have been selected by the Consultant.

A further key event was organized for November 2010, when a study visit to Ireland was successfully completed for the members of Working Group 1 and AVETAE staff. The experiences from the study visit have contributed in developing high familiarity of the relevant solutions regarding quality assurance at the system and provider level in the EU member state.
