The value of this project was a total of\u00a0<strong>HRK 49.919.843,34 \/ EUR 6.625.501,80<\/strong>, of which 85 % was co-financed from the European Social Fund and 15 % from national funds.<\/p>\n<p>The project was funded under the Call to the Agency for VET and Adult Education to submit proposals for operations as a direct allocation of funds under\u00a0<strong>Priority Axis 3 \u2013 \u201cEducation and Lifelong Learning\u201d<\/strong>, from\u00a0<strong>Operational Program \u201cEffective Human Resources\u201d 2014-2020. \u201c<\/strong>, published by the Ministry of Labour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main goal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vocational competitions are recognized at national, European and global levels as an important mechanism for promoting the excellence and attractiveness of vocational education. The project\u00a0<em>\u201c<\/em>\u00a0<em>Promotion of Student Competences and VET Through Skills Competitions\u201d<\/em>\u00a0responded to the challenges in the vocational education system in Croatia, such as low social perception of quality and relevance of vocational programs, has provided financial support for the necessary modernisation of national vocational student competitions, increased participation of Croatian representatives in international skills competitions and raised the reputation of vocational education through systematic strategic promotion through competitions. The aim of the project was to promote the importance of student competences and vocational occupations by improving the existing system of vocational competitions and strengthening the competences of school staff and students through participation in a modernized system of competitions at national and international level.\u00a0<strong>The project started in February 2018, and the implementation lasted until September 30, 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Achieved results<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The achieved results and indicators of this ESF project include the following activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a survey for vocational schools, teachers, principals and students about existing model of works and student competitions was conducted on a sample of 58 students, 500 teachers and 120 principals of secondary vocational schools in the Republic of Croatia<\/li>\n<li>an\u00a0<strong>Expert Working Group<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>was formed<\/strong>\u00a0to analyse the existing model of professional competitions and vocational fairs and to develop a new model of competitions and vocational fairs and two documents were prepared \u2013\u00a0<em>Analysis of the existing model of vocational competitions<\/em>\u00a0and the\u00a0<em>New model of competition of vocational school students<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>two study visits were organised<\/strong>\u00a0to national competitions in Skills \u2013 The Finals (Netherlands) and Taitaja (Finland), as examples of good practice in the area of competition.<\/li>\n<li>following the work of the Expert Working Group,\u00a0<strong>44 working groups were formed for the preparation of technical description documents<\/strong>\u00a0and task models for disciplines of vocational competitions in the Republic of Croatia.\u00a0<strong>Technical Description and Task Model documents were developed<\/strong>, published and implemented in 44 disciplines<\/li>\n<li><strong>the media campaign<\/strong>\u00a0<em>\u201cSkills are everywhere around us\u201d<\/em>\u00a0was conducted<\/li>\n<li><strong>the website<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldskillscroatia.hr\/\">worldskillscroatia.hr<\/a>\u00a0was created<\/li>\n<li>130 educational workshops for students and teachers of vocational subjects about the WorldSkills Croatia competition were organized<\/li>\n<li>in March 2019,\u00a0<strong>the National Competition of Vocational School Students \u2013\u00a0<em>WorldSkills Croatia 2019<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>was organised (for the first time in accordance with the new competition model):\n<ul>\n<li>44 vocational disciplines<\/li>\n<li>220 members of judging committees<\/li>\n<li>34 host schools<\/li>\n<li>568 competitors<\/li>\n<li>436 mentors<\/li>\n<li>24 business entities (event partners).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>the National Competition of Vocational School Students \u2013\u00a0<em>WorldSkills Croatia 2021<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>was organised:\n<ul>\n<li>43\u00a0 vocational disciplines<\/li>\n<li>156 members of judging committees<\/li>\n<li>29 host schools<\/li>\n<li>303 competitors<\/li>\n<li>296 mentors<\/li>\n<li>30 business entities (event partners).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>the National Competition of Vocational School Students \u2013\u00a0<em>WorldSkills Croatia 2022<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>was organised:\n<ul>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>40 vocational disciplines<\/li>\n<li>157 members of judging committees<\/li>\n<li>27 host schools<\/li>\n<li>357 competitors<\/li>\n<li>336 mentors<\/li>\n<li>43 business entities (event partners).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>the National Competition of Vocational School Students \u2013\u00a0<em>WorldSkills Croatia 2023<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>was organised:\n<ul>\n<li>46 vocational disciplines<\/li>\n<li>186 members of judging committees<\/li>\n<li>28 host schools<\/li>\n<li>405 competitors<\/li>\n<li>400 mentors<\/li>\n<li>48 business entities (event partners).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>continuous participation of the Agency\u2019s representatives in the international associations\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldskills.org\/\"><em>WorldSkills International<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldskillseurope.org\/\"><em>WorldSkills Europe<\/em><\/a>\u00a0has been ensured<\/li>\n<li>provided support for the participation of\u00a0<strong><em>WorldSkills Croatia<\/em>\u00a0Team<\/strong>\u00a0in:\n<ul>\n<li>European competition\u00a0<strong>EuroSkills in Budapest 2018<\/strong>\u00a0with a total of 13 competitors and 11 experts in 11 disciplines; the<em>\u00a0Medallion of Excellence<\/em>\u00a0award was won in the Hotel Reception discipline, while the\u00a0<em>Best of Nation<\/em>\u00a0award was received for the discipline Fashion Design and Technology.<\/li>\n<li>World competition\u00a0<strong>WorldSkills Kazan 2019<\/strong>, with a total of 9 competitors and 10 experts in 10 disciplines.;\u00a0<em>the<\/em>\u00a0<em>Medallion of Excellence<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Best of Nation<\/em>\u00a0awards were won in the Hotel Reception discipline, while the\u00a0<em>Medallion of Excellence<\/em>\u00a0award was received in the Network Systems Administration discipline<\/li>\n<li>European competition\u00a0<strong>EuroSkills in Gda\u0144sk 2023<\/strong>\u00a0with 10 competitors competing in 8 disciplines, including two team disciplines; in the discipline of Hotel Reception Management,<\/li>\n<li>the\u00a0<em>Medallion of Excellence\u00a0<\/em>was won, while for the discipline of Fashion Design and Technology, a bronze medal was achieved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>a new information system for competitions \u2013\u00a0<strong>WSC SINAS<\/strong>\u00a0system (Central Information Competition System) was developed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The project\u2019s website:\u00a0<a
