New Erasmus + project of the Agency - skillME

Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education (AVET) is partner on the Erasmus + project "Skills in metal and electro industry - skillME  whose main aim isidentifying a discrepancy between the existing and required skills in the electrical and metal sector, to create curricula that will bridge revealed shortcomings and integration of developed curricula in the national qualifications frameworks of partners involved in the project and to ensure the same principles of work and learning outcomes to encourage mobility.

The project coordinator is the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce, and partners apart from Slovenia come from Slovakia, Latvia and Croatia. For each country there are involved three types of partner institutions:
  • regulatory agencies in the field of VET,
  • representatives of employers and
  • VET schools.

With AVETAE national partners in the project are the Croatian Employers' Association and Mechanical engineering Technical School Faust Vrančić.

In the first phase of the project will be determined by the current situation and the need for skills through:

• analysis of available data and research in the countries participating in the project
• analysis of relevant information and data from other EU countries
• organizing focus groups and interviews with companies from the electrical and metal sector in all four countries participating in the project in order to identify the real needs of the labor market

Based on the analysis of the collected data will be chosen for the four most relevant skills, for which in continuation of the project curricula based on learning outcomes will be developed and all the necessary materials for their successful performance. In doing so, each country will be responsible for the development of the curriculum while four will be piloted and implemented in all four countries.

The project runs from 1 November 2014 to 31 October 2017 and has a total value of € 554,258.00.
