International Cooperation

Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Educaiotn is extremely active in the field of international cooperation in the area of vocational education and adult education. Our activities are related to:
  • participation in working groups, networks and initiatives of the European Union as representatives of the Croatia
  • cooperation with European and international institutions
  • bilateral cooperation

Participation in the working groups, networks and initiatives of the European Union as representatives of the Croatia

A large number of the Agency's activities in the field of international cooperation is associated with the participation in working groups, networks and initiatives of the EU in the field of VET and adult education, where through the active work we present the Republic of Croatia. At the workshops, conferences and workshops we follow-up, contribute to the creation, development and monitoring of the various European policies and tools in the field of VET. Participating in these bodies and networks has the purpose of improving and increasing the quality of the national system of VET and adult education.

Working bodies and networks in which the Agency participates and represents the Republic of Croatia are:
  • ACVT (Advisory Committee of the European Commission for vocational education and training) - assists the European Commission in the implementation of EU policy in the field of vocational education and training
  • The European Network for Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET) - brings together representatives of Member States, social partners and the European Commission with the aim of developing and improving quality assurance in the European systems of vocational education and training in the context of the implementation of the European reference framework for quality assurance. The Agency is Croatian reference point for quality assurance in vocational education and training (QAVET.HR)
  • The European credit system for vocational education and training (ECVET) - A network connecting all stakeholders in the field of vocational education that develop and implement ECVET, a European instrument intended to promote mutual trust and mobility in the field of vocational education and training.
     

 
Bilateral cooperation

The Agency has over the years developed bilateral cooperation with a number of institutions such as the National Institute for Vocational Education and Training (CPI), Slovenia; Metropolitan University College. Denmark, Omnia, Finland, etc.

Through this cooperation the Agency exchanges of experience with other countries, gaining access to advanced practices and build partnerships for the development and transfer of innovation in the field of vocational education and adult education. Also, through this co-operation we develop and agree joint projects funded from various funds and programs, such as Erasmus +.

Cooperation with European and international institutions

The Agency has developed mechanisms of linking and active cooperation with foreign educational institutions of the same profile as the Agency works.

European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training Centre Européen pour le Développement de la Formation Professionnelle - CEDEFOP)

European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training - CEDEFOP established in 1975, is a European agency that helps promote and develop vocational education and training in the European Union (EU). It is  EU's reference centre for vocational education and training. CEDEFOP is a non-profit, decentralized and independent agency with its head office located in Thessaloniki, Greece. CEDEFOP has a counselling role and helps the Commission, member states, EU institutions and other organisations, based on agency’s research and information, to competently decide on the policies of vocational education.
Centre provides associates with latest information on current state and trends in vocational education in EU. Centre publishes Cedefop Info, a journal that collects relevant information about vocational education in all member states, and is available in English, German and French language. Cedefop's free-off-charge publications include ''Cedefop Info'', ''Panorama'', and ''Discussion papers''.
Centre produces studies and reports on issues from the field of vocational education, mainly areas of quality, transparency and accreditation of informal learning, sectoral trends, new qualifications, financing, etc. CEDEFOP organizes study visits to other member states related to specific areas of vocational education. The Information and Documentation Service (Infodoc) is a part of the centre, and its main task is to compile selected documentation relating in particular to the present situation, latest developments and research in the relevant fields, and to matters of vocational training structure. Every year Centre submits report to the European Parliament on all activities and implementation of previous year plan
The European Training Foundation is an agency of the European Union based in Turin, Italy. It was established in 1990 in order to contribute to the development of the education and training systems of the EU partner countries.
European Training Foundation’s mission is to help transition and developing countries to harness the potential of their human capital through the reform of education, training and labour market systems in the context of the Eu's external relations policy.

The UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training was established in 2000 and was inaugurated in Bonn in 2002. It is at once UNESCO’s specialized Centre for TVET and the hub of a worldwide Network of TVET institutions, the UNEVOC Network. Its aim is to assists UNESCO's member states in strengthening and upgrading their TVET systems. UNEVOC Network includes government ministries, research facilities, planning and training institutions and serves as a platform for information sharing. Ideal that sets direction of Centre’s activities is TVET relevant to the needs of the labour market, of high quality, and broadly accessible. The UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre acts as a key component of UNESCO’s international programme on technical and vocational education and training. It also works to support UNESCO’s mandate for Education for All and Education for Sustainable Development. The Centre achieves this through taking action to strengthen and upgrade the world-wide UNEVOC Network, with particular reference to:
  • Stimulating international and regional cooperation concerning human resource development
  • Promoting UNESCO normative instruments and standards
  • Promoting best and innovative practices in TVET
  • Knowledge sharing
  • Mobilizing expertise and resources
  • Strengthening partnerships with other relevant agencies.
